Cancellation of your registration at Université Grenoble Alpes

Are you enrolled at the University of the Gulf (Université Grenoble Alpes , UGA) for the 2026–2027 academic year, but have decided to cancel your enrollment? That’s possible. Depending on the reason for your cancellation and the date you submit your request, you may or may not be eligible for a refund of your enrollment fees. 

The various grounds for cancellation

Case No. 1: Cancellation without cause

If you change your mind and cancel your registration before October 1, 2026, you don't have No need to provide proof. Your registration fee will be automatically refunded.

If you're taking distance learning courses, you have through December 1, 2026 to cancel without giving a reason, provided you have not yet accessed your online courses.

Case #2: Enrollment at another school

Have you finally decided to go to a different university or school?
  • If you are enrolled in PASS: You have until September 30, 2026, to submit your request. After that date, no cancellations will be accepted for this reason.
  • If you are in a different program (other than PASS): You have until December 1, 2026, to submit your application.
  • If you are enrolled in distance learning, you have until December 1, 2026, to cancel without giving a reason, provided you have not yet accessed your online courses.
In any case, you will need to provide proof of your enrollment at the other institution. You will then automatically receive a refund of your registration fees.

Case No. 3: Withdrawal from a preparatory class for the grandes écoles (CPGE)

You have through January 15, 2027 to cancel your registration. You will then need to provide proof of resignation of your CPGE.

Case #4: You are in a special situation or have missed the deadline to request cancellation of your registration

If your situation does not fall into any of the categories above, you can still submit a cancellation request. Your request may be approved if your situation meets one of the following criteria:
  • You have moved to a new place (with your family or spouse).
  • You have health problems.
  • You've found a job.
  • You haven't found a company for your work-study program.
  • You are continuing your studies abroad or at a private school.
  • You were denied dual enrollment.
You must submit your application online before the deadlines and include a letter explaining your situation. The committee will decide whether to accept your cancellation and any potential refund.
 

Depending on the reason for your application and your program of study, your application will be reviewed by the committee on the following dates:

  • Applications submitted before October 1, 2026: The committee meets in mid-October.
  • Applications submitted before November 1, 2026: The committee meets in mid-November.
  • Applications submitted before December 1, 2026: The committee meets in mid-December.
  • After December 1, 2026, no applications will be accepted, except for students in CPGE programs.

You will then be notified of the decision by your department (your college, school, or institute).

Good to Know

  • Your student status
    If you cancel your registration, you will lose your student status.
  • Refunds
    If your request is approved, you will be reimbursed via bank transfer. Please note that the €23 processing fee is non-refundable. If you chose to pay in three installments, the refund will not be issued until after the third payment has been made.
