Elective Cross-Curricular Courses (ETC): Interdisciplinary Courses

Elective interdisciplinary courses (ETC) give you flexibility in your academic program. These required modules complement your major. They allow you to develop interdisciplinary skills and enrich your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Each semester, you can choose a course that aligns with your personal interests or future plans from a wide-ranging catalog of diverse topics.

Warning

ETCs are not offered in all degree programs (they are primarily available in bachelor’s and master’s programs). Be sure to check that your program curriculum includes the option to choose an ETC before you enroll!

Good to Know

  • These courses last between 18 and 28 hours.
  • They cover a wide range of topics: bioethics, communication, project management, an introduction to artificial intelligence, sustainable development, the history of human rights, and more.
  • Course formats vary: they include tutorials, lab sessions, lectures, and even more experimental and participatory formats.
  • During your bachelor's and master's programs, you can earn several of them.

Step 1: Choose your ETCs

You must select your ETCs from our catalog based on your academic track, the proposed schedule for the ETC, and the location of the classes (Grenoble or Valence).
