Getting into college without a high school diploma: the Diploma for Access to University Studies (DAEU)

It is possible to enroll in college without a high school diploma! The Diploma of Access to University Studies (DAEU) is a national credential designed specifically for adults who do not have a high school diploma. It grants you the same rights as a high school diploma, allowing you to pursue higher education and take certain civil service exams.

Why take the DAEU?

  • The DAEU is a gateway to higher education: universities, IUTs, BTS programs, and even certain schools.
  • The DEAU qualifies you toapply for civil servicecompetitive exams (Category B) that require a high school diploma.
  • This is your chance to brush up on your skills or advance your career.
  • It is also a genuine personal recognition.

Training Options

The DAEU offers two tracks:
  • The DAEU A, literature track: equivalent to the literature and social sciences baccalaureates.
  • The DAEU B, science track: equivalent to the science-track baccalaureate.

A flexible organization

The DAEU was designed to fit your schedule. This means you can:
  • Attend in-person classes at the university.
  • Choose a hybrid program that combines in-person and online classes.
  • Study entirely online through the "Digital Solidarity and Regional Attractiveness" (Sonate) program.
  • Enroll in a work-study program under an apprenticeship contract.
The goal is for you to be able to learn at your own pace, without having to choose between your studies, your family life, and your career.
