The Design Factory's workshops, challenges, and thematic schools

The Université Grenoble Alpes Design Factory offers initiatives to help you understand and address socio-environmental transitions. The methods used are based on creativity and design thinking, which are powerful tools to support the world's ongoing transformations.

The Proposed Measures

  • Lectures and field trips
To broaden your knowledge and contribute to democratic debates in an informed manner.
  • Workshops and thematic schools
To explore a specific topic in greater depth. You will work on real-world cases provided by private or public partners in the region. In doing so, you will develop transferable skills, such as project-based work, collective intelligence, creativity, critical thinking, and systems thinking.

An example of an initiative: A Low-Tech week at the UGA Design Factory
For five days, Université Grenoble Alpes students from all levels and disciplines gathered at the MASTIC FabLab to experiment with making ecological and sustainable items: wood-burning cookers, solar lamps, and Norwegian cookers. Their mission: acquire technical skills, discover accessible and practical manufacturing methods, and envision solutions for a more responsible future.

Make the Most of Your Participation

At the end of each program, you can earn a digital certification—called an “open badge”—to showcase your experience and make your resume stand out.
