Studying Abroad Through an Exchange Program: Funding

Once you've been selected for an international exchange, you may be eligible for financial support. Here's how mobility grants work atUniversité Grenoble Alpes.

Available Scholarships

There are several forms of financial assistance available to help you cover your expenses during your stay:
  • The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region's Regional Scholarship for International Student Mobility (BRMIE).
  • The Erasmus+ Study Grant (SMS), as part of the European Union program.
  • The International Mobility Grant (AMI) from the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
If you are a CROUS scholarship recipient or have a disability, you may be eligible for additional financial aid. Please note that these mobility grants can be combined with your CROUS scholarship, which you will continue to receive during your stay.

Key Points to Remember

  • These grants do not cover all expenses. It is essential to plan your budget before you leave.
  • Scholarships are not automatic. The amounts may vary from year to year.
  • Your eligibility depends on your profile (destination, length of stay, personal circumstances, etc.).
  • The funding period will not always correspond to the actual duration of your mobility assignment.

Payment of Scholarships

Payment is made in two installments:
  • An initial payment of 75% of the total amount, at the start of your mobility program.
  • The balance—that is, the remaining 25%—is due at the end of your stay.
