Study Abroad Opportunities for Students with Disabilities

Are you a student with a disability who wants to study or do an internship abroad? You should know that you can receive support and specific financial assistance to help make your plans a reality under the best possible conditions.

Plan Ahead and Do Your Research

The first step is to Contact the International Relations Office from your school, college, or institute. Our teams will help you articulate your needs and tailor your mobility plan.

When choosing your destination, it's important to find out about accessibility at foreign universities. You can view the interactive map created by the Erasmus Student Network to get a clearer picture of the situation.

Financial Assistance

If you are selected for an Erasmus+ study program, you may receive additional financial assistance. This assistance is designed to provide you with comprehensive support so that your mobility experience goes as smoothly as possible. This grant is intended to cover the additional costs associated with your disability, as well as those of a potential companion. The Erasmus+ program may cover, among other things:
  • Travel and living expenses for you and your companion.
  • Technical and educational aids tailored to your situation.
In addition, the Erasmus+ program provides additional financial assistance (a lump-sum supplement) to help students with fewer opportunities due to a disability or a long-term medical condition (ALD) get started.
