Funding for Job Seekers to Return to School

To find a job, you may need to update your skills, assess your career situation, develop your skills, or even change careers. Training is designed to help you return to work. It may be organized as part of an internship or a special type of employment contract.

Financial assistance from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, France Travail, and Agefiph

The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, France Travail, and Agefiph can provide funding for continuing vocational training programs for job seekers that cover a wide range of occupations.

To be eligible for training, you must be registered with a referring organization: France Travail, Mission Locale, Cap Emploi, or the Information Center on Women’s and Families’ Rights.

Schedule an appointment with an advisor who will help you develop your plan and identify the training programs that might be right for you.

The Personal Training Account (CPF)

The CPF is an account denominated in euros that allows any individual, regardless of their status, to participate in a training program at their own initiative.

It provides 500 euros per year (up to a maximum of 5,000 euros) for any employee whose working hours are between 50% and 100% of full-time hours. The accrued benefits are tied to the individual, even if the individual becomes a job seeker.

France Travail's Assistance Programs

When existing funding programs (such as those offered by local governments, skills development agencies, etc.) cannot cover the costs of your training program—whether in part or in full—the Individual Training Assistance (AIF) program may help cover the tuition costs of your training.
