The Attractiveness Grant
Who is this scholarship for?
This scholarship is an award for academic excellence. It is intended for students who
apply in one of the Graduate School@UGA's thematic programs.
How much is the scholarship?
The total amount is
14,500 euros, paid over two years :
- 9,000 euros in the first year of the master's program (M1).
- 5,500 euros in the second year of the master's program (M2).
In addition, the Graduate School@UGA covers the
Compensation for your M2 internship conducted in a UGA laboratory, which represents approximately
3,000 euros additional.
Good to Know
By accepting this scholarship, you agree to participate in the activities of your thematic program for two years. If you have to repeat a year, scholarship payments will be suspended.
What are the requirements for applying?
To be eligible, you must:
- Be admitted to the M1 program or the fourth year of the engineering programat UGA.
- Be admitted to a thematic program at the Graduate School@UGA.
- Have an outstanding academic record.
- You must not already be receiving another government scholarship (French or foreign), such as the Idex or Eiffel scholarships. Scholarships based on financial need are not subject to this requirement.
How do I apply?
You must submit your application for this scholarship
at the same time that you are applying to the Graduate School@UGA’s thematic program.
If you haven't yet received your admission letter for the Master's program or the engineering program, simply

The Outreach Scholarship (International Mobility)
Who is this scholarship for?
It is a system designed to
provide financial support for your international mobility. It is designed for students at the Graduate School@UGA who plan to pursue a
internship abroad as part of their research project at UGA.
How much is the scholarship?
The amount varies depending on the length of your internship:
- 2,000 euros for an internship lasting between 2 and 4 months.
- 3,000 euros for an internship lasting more than 4 months.
What are the requirements for applying?
To be eligible, you must:
- Be enrolled for both years (M1 and M2) in a thematic program at the Graduate School@UGA.
- You must not already be a recipient of a Graduate School@UGA Attractiveness Scholarship or an Idex Scholarship.
- You may receive this financial aidonly once during your two years of study at the Graduate School@UGA.
Frequently Asked Questions
When exactly will the GS@UGA scholarship be paid out?
First year (M1, second year of engineering):
The first payment of 4,000 euros is made in October of the current academic year. The second payment of 4,000 euros is made in February of the current academic year.
Second year (M2, third year of engineering):
The one-time payment of 5,000 euros will be made in October of the current academic year, upon presentation of proof of successful completion of the first year of a Master’s program or equivalent, and provided you are enrolled in an M2 program eligible for your thematic track.
Are students who have been awarded a GS@UGA scholarship exempt from tuition and fees?
No. The GS@UGA scholarship does not cover UGA registration fees, including the specific fees for non-EU nationals, nor does it cover the CVEC.
Note: Registration fees must be paid as soon as possible in September because, without the “payment receipt,” we cannot process the scholarship payment.
Do I have to complete my capstone internship at a UGA laboratory?
If you would like to complete your internship at a company or outside of UGA, we recommend that you contact your program advisor to discuss this possibility. Please note that the Graduate School@UGA will only cover your internship stipend if the internship is completed at a partner laboratory.
Is there any specific relocation assistance available for GS@UGA scholarship recipients?
No. The GS@UGA scholarship does not include any specific assistance for finding housing in Grenoble.
Can the GS@UGA scholarship be combined with a student job?
Can I combine my GS@UGA scholarship with a need-based scholarship?
Can I also apply for the GS@UGA Outbound Mobility Grant?
No. As an incoming GS@UGA scholarship recipient, you are not eligible for outbound mobility assistance, as the program is exclusively for students enrolled in a thematic program AND who are not recipients of an incoming GS@UGA scholarship.
