At Université Grenoble Alpes, your education evolves alongside knowledge, professions, and the major challenges of our time. To provide you with an ever more dynamic, interactive learning experience grounded in reality, we are continually developing new teaching approaches.
You will study in an environment that fosters exchange, discussion, and debate. You will benefit from more hands-on courses where you take the lead in your own learning, gaining understanding through experience—particularly through simulations. Your courses may take the form of educational games (or gamification), which make concepts more tangible and engaging. Finally, these innovative approaches effectively prepare you for the challenges of the future professional world.

Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Your Studies
Your instructors are learning how to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools so they can help you apply them in your studies and future careers. They provide opportunities for training and reflection to help you make the most of these tools.
Spotlight on the Major AI Trial
Immersive lectures on campus featuring a judge, a prosecutor, experts, and the defendant. Alice from Gemini, the AI on trial, must answer to 15 charges. The jury, made up of members of the audience, deliberates at the end of the session to decide whether the AI is an ally or a threat.
Learning Through Simulation
While in college, one might ask oneself:
"What's the point of what I'm learning?". Simulation can help provide an answer, to
make certain learning experiences more concrete. Thus, at Université Grenoble Alpes, we integrate into certain courses
simulation activities that immerse students in the heart of the action and allow them to envision their future professional lives, as well as to explore an aspect of the curriculum directly inspired by real-world situations. The goal is not to simply replicate the workplace, but—through scenarios specifically designed by teachers—to experiment, learn, and discover some key aspects of your field of study.
Spotlight on Law Night
Once a year, the Grenoble Court of Appeal organizes an event to explore law and legal institutions. The Université Grenoble Alpes Faculty of Law takes an active part in it. It is an opportunity to experience mock trials, simulated polling stations, and more, giving students a firsthand glimpse of legal careers after graduation.
Studying in Innovative Spaces
Over the years, we have made the necessary arrangements to accommodate students and faculty
in innovative environments that are more conducive to learning. The renovated or intentionally improved buildings have been equipped with furnishings to creatively arrange self-service learning spaces or rooms that can be booked for classes and specific educational events. Learning lab, learning center, fab lab, coworking space, creativity room, etc. A map of the learning spaces on the Saint-Martin-d'Hères, Grenoble, and Valence campuses is available for staff and students of Université Grenoble Alpes.

Here are a few examples of innovative learning spaces and how they are used on a daily basis:
- The Pépite Ozer coworking space
A shared, collaborative workspace that provides access to a network and events focused on entrepreneurship.
- The "Parenthèse(s)" relaxation area at the
University Library
To make the university library feel "just like home."
- FabLab in the Alps
A scientific and educational platform that, among other things, allows users to explore new prototyping techniques and experiment with new digital fabrication methods.
- The Joseph-Fourier Library Learning Center
A collection of spaces designed to support academic work and academic success, as well as places, collections, and services that allow everyone to relax.
- The CLV Building's Learning Lab
A building housing lecture halls and classrooms with modular furniture. A space for educational experimentation where teachers are welcome year-round.
- The creativity rooms at the Design Factory in the Maison de la Création et de l'Innovation
More than 300 m² of open, flexible spaces that are particularly well-suited for creativity workshops and experimentation with new educational formats.
- The Active Learning Room at Valence
Highly flexible spaces equipped with technology for collaborative learning, dedicated to active learning practices.
- IUT2's collaborative workspaces
"Bubbles" or soundproofed rooms for working in groups in a quiet environment.

Develop Your Skills
At Université Grenoble Alpes, you acquire much more than theoretical knowledge: you also develop skills and practical know-how valuable in the professional world. Thanks to the work of our teaching staff,
These skills are now identified in the training programs, which allows you to better identify and highlight them—especially on your resume—to demonstrate your suitability for a job opening.
Receiving support as you explore life as a student
At Université Grenoble Alpes,
Tutoring is a key factor in success. In some courses, if you're having trouble or simply want to improve your study habits, student tutors are there to help you.
To ensure the quality of this support,
All tutors are eligible for training Online in-house training, to be completed independently.
- This training helps them clarify their role—knowing how far to go, when to consult a teacher, or when to refer the matter to another department—and to adopt the right approach: neither a teacher nor just a student, but a true mentor.
- There, they develop essential skills such as active listening, empathetic communication, facilitating group discussions, and conducting one-on-one interviews. They also learn how to leverage this experience in their professional careers.
- In-person group discussion sessions are held regularly to share best practices, take a step back, and grow together. After all, providing support also means getting to know one another, adapting, and growing alongside others.
