International Experience: Studying Abroad While in College

Want to go abroad during your studies? At Université Grenoble Alpes, the international experience is an integral part of the student journey: whether through a study period, an internship, a summer school, or an international program, lasting for a month, a semester, or a year, depending on your program. This experience allows you to discover different ways of learning, practice a language, meet new cultures, and develop skills that are useful for studying, working, and acting in an open, intercultural, and changing world.
  • Study abroad as part of an exchange program
A university exchange program allows you to complete part of your studies, generally one or two semesters, at one of our partner universities abroad. Unlike personal travel, exchange mobilities are structured and supervised. At the end of this period, you return to Université Grenoble Alpes to graduate.
  • Study abroad independently
It is possible to study abroad without going through a university exchange program. Whether you want to fully immerse yourself in a new culture, choose a specific university that is not a partner of Université Grenoble Alpes, or simply organize your experience from A to Z on your own, this personal endeavor can be a unique and enriching adventure.
  • Pursue an international partnership degree
International partnership degrees are programs that allow you to obtain a qualification recognized by both Université Grenoble Alpes and a partner foreign university.
  • Doing an Internship Abroad
Are you thinking about doing an internship abroad as part of your studies? There are several steps you’ll need to take to make your plan a success.
  • Become a Language Assistant or Lecturer
Would you like to travel while teaching your native language? The language assistant program allows you to immerse yourself in a new culture, improve your language skills, and discover the teaching profession.
  • Traveling Abroad If You Have a Disability
You may be eligible for specific support and financial assistance to help ensure your trip goes as smoothly as possible.
