ETC French Linguistics: Syntax and Discourse

Training
After defining the sentence and the utterance, this course begins by introducing students to basic syntactic operations on a simple sentence (out of context) so that they can learn to manipulate the main constituents with ease. Next, utterances with so-called “neutral” word order are contrasted with those having “expressive” word order.

ETC is open during the following semesters: S1
Target student audience:  L1, L2, L3 (except for students in language sciences)
ETC time slot: Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
