High-level student-athletes: Academic Accommodations and Support

High-level student athletes: Apply for status and receive support

Want to balance high-level sports with higher education? The high-level sports university committee at Université Grenoble Alpes supports you in successfully managing your dual career.
How do I apply for high-level student-athlete status?
This status allows students to benefit from special support measures as they pursue higher education, enabling them to balance their studies and athletic careers under the best possible conditions.

A support program that is unique in France

All programs can be tailored to allow you to pursue the studies of your choice. These accommodations are designed to fit around your athletic commitments, not the other way around. As a high-level student-athlete, you’ll be supported by a faculty coordinator, who will determine the necessary accommodations based on your athletic situation (extended course duration, flexible scheduling, special exam sessions, etc.). Academic support is at the heart of the program. It is complemented by specific support measures: medical and paramedical, athletic, and social.

The Liaisons

To help them balance their studies with competition at the highest level, elite student-athletes receive individualized support throughout their academic careers from seven university-level advisors and more than 120 faculty coordinators in our schools, colleges, and institutes. They also receive assistance from an academic advisor who specializes in supporting elite student-athletes.

University Training and Education Centers

Available across seven sports disciplines, university training and coaching centers are the result of a unique partnership between Université Grenoble Alpes and the sporting world: federations, leagues, committees, and sports clubs. This pooling of resources provides enhanced training conditions and medical monitoring right on campus.

Inter’Val: A Program for Elite Winter Athletes

The Inter’Val program was created to address the intense demands faced by winter sports specialists.
