ETC Information and Communication in Contemporary Societies

The purpose of this MOOC is to explore the relationships between communication practices, media, digital communication platforms, and society. The goal is to provide tools for understanding the evolution of communication and its impacts, drawing on work and research in the fields of information and communication sciences.

The course will analyze current issues in Western societies (the environment, freedom, health, etc.). It will also examine the communication strategies employed by the main stakeholders (organizations, government agencies and public authorities, components of “civil society,” cultural and scientific institutions, etc.).
